Neighbourhood

The residential area Weißenseer Spitze in Berlin, lies on the border between Pankow, Weißensee and Prenzlauer Berg. The architecture clearly reflects the development phases from the foundation of the German Reich to the Weimar Republic and is considered a testimony to the historical and structural development of the area. The area of Weißenseer Spitze is therefore subject to the urban development preservation ordinance. 

Project

In order to achieve the characteristic for urban construction, the development of the scheme took place in close collaboration with the urban planning office. The historic two-story residential building on Heinersdorfer Strasse will be retained and integrated into a larger newbuild development. The project includes the development of 223 fully equipped self-contained micro-apartments, each with their own kitchenette and bathroom, as well as shared common areas on the ground floor. In order to make the mix between historic and new perceptible to residents, public areas such as the inhouse launderette and gym have been placed into the historic building.

After completion, the building will be managed by CRE under the brand Tannhaus.
